Cloud Support Engineer - San Francisco, CA

As an integral part of our technical support team, you will help develop and maintain our support tools and cloud infrastructure. This infrastructure is responsible for everything from continuous integration and testing in the cloud, to deploying new natural language search technologies across a variety of contexts.  You’ll get to wear many hats, touch many parts of our system, and have a significant impact on product development.

Engineer

As an integral part of our technical support team, you will help develop and maintain our support tools and cloud infrastructure. This infrastructure is responsible for everything from continuous integration and testing in the cloud, to deploying new natural language search technologies across a variety of contexts.  You’ll get to wear many hats, touch many parts of our system, and have a significant impact on product development.

The kinds of problems you’ll be working on include:

  • Building out tests and continuous integration infrastructure
  • Creating cloud automation workflows to scale operations
  • Maintaining our production application delivery infrastructure
  • Setting up a technical support portal and knowledge base
  • QA testing of Splunk systems and applications
  • Designing dashboards for monitoring and evaluating customer deployments
  • Provide technical support to sales engineers and partners

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics or related discipline, or 4+ years equivalent technology experience
  • 2+ years of Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS) system administration
  • 2+ years in a customer facing technical support role
  • Strong technical writing skills

Preferred Qualifications

Specifically, we are looking for candidates who can demonstrate proficiency in at least 2 of the following areas:

  • 1+ years of Docker development
  • 2+ years of Google cloud (or AWS) expertise
  • 2+ years web application development
  • 2+ years of Python development
  • 2+ years of Javascript development
  • Familiar with agile DevOps environments
  • Familiar with continuous integration tools
  • Familiar with Splunk or similar security focused logging tools
